BBEdit Lite (mac) - Awesome code editor. Scroll down on the page; you don't HAVE to enter your personal info.
Coffeecup (pc) - a great coding editor for the pc. You can also use notepad; that works. If you have a few extra bucks and like coffeecup, register it and support shareware (software made by individuals or small companies that is much cheaper than most software. )
